Mesnil-Martinsart is a commune in the Department of the Somme, on the right bank of the Ancre, between Albert and Beaumont-Hamel; it contains the two villages of Mesnil and Martinsart. Mesnil Ridge Cemetery lies about midway between Mesnil and Auchonvillers, on the Western slope of a valley running North from Mesnil. The Cemetery was made by Field Ambulances and fighting units (mainly of the 29th and 36th (Ulster) Divisions) between August 1916 and August 1916. It contains the graves of 94 soldiers from the United Kingdom and one from Newfoundland. It covers an area of 818 square metres. It is enclosed by a stone rubble wall. Number of burials by Unit
